Your projects
stay with you.The KidsCode privacy policy

KidsCode is a free coding playground made for children. We keep it simple: no accounts, no ads, no chat, and nothing to sign up for.

Last updated: 25 October 2026

The short version

No accounts

There are no accounts, profiles, or sign-up forms, and we never ask for personal details. Code you write in the block editor or the Python playground runs in your browser and is not sent to us.

What is saved in your browser

When your browser allows it, KidsCode uses local storage on your device to remember:

None of this is sent to us or synced between devices. Clear this site’s data in your browser settings to remove everything, or use the progress reset on the Explore page to clear completed activities only.

Usage statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-S48T3RS4FW) to count visits and see which pages and activities are used, so we can make KidsCode better. It records things like the pages viewed, how a visitor arrived, an approximate location, and the type of device and browser. We look only at totals, never at individual children. Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy.

The site uses Google Consent Mode. Where a cookie choice is needed and none has been made, or when someone chooses Reject, Google Analytics runs without cookies.

Cookie choices

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland see a small cookie banner. Until a choice is made, analytics runs without cookies. Accept allows analytics cookies; Reject keeps analytics cookie-free. The choice is stored in the browser for 180 days and can be changed at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

No ads

KidsCode shows no advertising and uses no advertising cookies or ad tracking.

Other services

Fonts come from Google Fonts. Starting the Python playground downloads its runtime from the jsDelivr CDN. Those services and our hosting provider receive ordinary connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site.

For grown-ups

KidsCode is made for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent, carer, or teacher with a question about privacy, email info@kidscode.dev. The grown-ups guide explains how the activities work.

Changes to this policy

If how KidsCode handles data changes, we will update this page and the date above.
